Edited by: Yurii Chan on 11/06/2007 06:16:32 bah - the race was very American in my opinion (safety car galore tho i did hear that the safety car almost crashed. so would that require a safety car for the safety car?!)
Hamilton wins... yippee... actually, that was one of the highlights in my opinion in light of some comments made by Jacques Villeneuve (something about Hamilton being dangerous as a driver and reckless).
Then came the penalty for Alonso and uhm, one of the BMWs? which i think i screamed loud enough to be heard across the pond (i really cant stand the guy... arrogant*****y little loserfish) - so he ended up 15th after the penalty and lost all hopes of winning the race.
Coup de Grace was of course Takuma Sato overtaking Alonso as if the McLaren was no better than a standard 'earth' honda compared to the super aguri. i think i cheered loud enough to be picked up by sonars in the pacific for that one.
The black flag penalties given to Massa and was it Fisichella was bleh. they deserved it but at the same time i'm upset over it. I loved Ferrari (primarily due to Micheal) and i'm def. sad over the current state of things with Raikkonen doing god knows what rather than unleashing the beast and getting into the fight. Massa was always a #2 driver sad to say but it shows.
The Kubica incident was horrific but wow, were this just 10 years ago he'd have been in some serious ditch (read - 6 ft under) car went airborne, barrel rolled like a military jet @ some fancy airshow and the grand finale - a grand slam on the barricade. Thankfully none of the cars ahead/behind him were caught up in the mess and he's fine according to many sources. Hope to see him back soon as he does show some talent waiting to be refined.
what else... did i mentioned that safety car laps are lame? oh and seriously, some of the fia regulations are moronic at best (for starters - everyone must use BOTH sets of soft and hard compounds in the race - ffs get off the rule book equalizing bs and let there be raw racing!!)
the race was broadcasted live on a national US channel (think it was ABC) and i bet the few 'noobie' americans who did watch it were saying "oh, safety cars, crashes, yellow flags!!! this is like nascar"... how disappointed they'll be in the next race (sunday USGP @ indy)
but yea - US broadcasts suck... i remember once watching a race in France where i was able to choose camera angles and such... wish we had that here. (they've started doing it for nascar but wtf wants to watch 40 odd cars going taking 800 left hand turns?)
so yea - overall, 5/10 for the race.. and Hamilton for world champion please! would really put a sock in Alonso's ego but i'm sure alonso would find something to blame besides himself!
oh almost forgot - PIT STACKING IS BAD! IT RARELY EVER WORKS! so please if someone works at ferrari, pass on the message to whoever is in charge now. (yea havent paid much attention to anything but the racing since Micheal left)
---- almost forgot lay off MY Katie, Vincenoir... she's mine!!!
